| 内容記述 | 人類とウマとの歴史は長く、食用、運搬用、乗用、軍用と様々な形でウマを活用してきた。現在、日本では競馬で活躍するウマが多い。ウマに興味を持ち、インターネットやSNS で多くの情報を得るようになると多数の競走用軽種馬が競馬を引退した後、行き場を失っている事実を知ることになる。近年、引退競走馬を支援する活動は広がりを見せており、観光での利活用への期待もある。本稿では、引退競走馬の2024 年現在の状況について、文献調査の結果を中心にまとめてみたい。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Human beings have used horses for various purposes, such as food, carriages, riding and the military. At present, most horses in Japan are produced and trained for racing. According to various information on the Internet and social media, a number of these horses will eventually disappear when they retire from horse racing, and this disappearance is probably owing to slaughter. Recently, activities in order to safeguard retired racehorses have increased, and it is also expected that some retired racehorses will be used in tourism. In this article, the current situation of retired racehorses in Japan is described mainly based on literature reviews. | |||||||||
